The city of Jodino of regional submission is located in 50 kms from Minsk, occupies the area of 1922 hectares.At city two dates of birth: the first - historical, 1688; the second - March, 7, 1963 when the city settlement has received the status of regional submission. First time of Jodino is mentioned in assembly books of the Minsk city court in January, 1688. The name of city proceeds from the river Jodinka. In 1866 in Jodino it was totaled 470 inhabitants. There was a church, national school, a water mill, a bench, a tavern. The population was engaged in an agriculture, processing of wood, fine trade. In the same 1866 through Jodino the railway was laid. In view of the site - for a way from Minsk to Moscow, Jodino has deserved mentions first of all in historical chronicles of last wars. From scientific institutes the most known are the Byelorussian scientific research institute of agriculture and forages and the Byelorussian scientific research institute of animal industries. Among city sights the monument devoted A.F.Kuprijanovoj and to her five sons who have lost in Great Domestic war is well-known .
